एटग्रेड– रेशम कीट का जीवन चक्र | Silkworm Life Cycle

मादा रेशम कीट अण्डे देती है। इन अण्डों से लार्वा निकलते हैं। इसे इल्ली या रेशम कीट कहा जाता है। यह रेशम कीट अपने आकार में धीरे-धीरे वृद्धि करता है। जब इल्ली (रेशम कीट) अपने जीवन चक्र की अगली अवस्था में प्रवेश करने के लिए तैयार हो, तो इसे प्यूपा या कोशित कहा जाता है। यह अपने चारों ओर एक जाल बुन लेता है। यह जाल उसे अपने स्थान पर बने रहने में सहायता प्रदान करती है।

The female silkworm lays eggs. Larvae emerge from these eggs. It is called worm or silkworm. This silkworm increases its size gradually. When the caterpillar (silk moth) is ready to enter the next stage of its life cycle, it is called a pupa or koshit. It weaves a net around itself. This net helps it stay in place.

प्यूपा अपने सिर को एक सिरे से दूसरे सिरे तक ले जाता है। सिर की इस गति के समय इल्ली पतले तार के रूप में एक पदार्थ स्रावित करती है। यह पदार्थ प्रोटीन से बना होता है। यह पदार्थ कठोर होकर रेशम का रेशा बन जाता है। शीघ्र ही इल्ली स्वयं को पूरी तरह से रेशम के रेशों से ढक लेती है। इससे प्यूपा बन जाता है। इस आवरण को कोकून कहा जाता है। इसके बाद कीट का विकास कोकून के भीतर होता है।

Pupa moves its head from one end to the other. During this movement of the head, the caterpillar secretes a substance in the form of a thin wire. This substance is made up of proteins. This material hardens to become a silk fiber. Soon the caterpillar covers itself completely with silk fibres. This becomes a pupa. This cover is called cocoon. The insect then develops inside the cocoon.

रेशम का मृदु रेशा स्टील के तार जितना मजबूत होता है। रेशम के रेशों का प्रयोग वस्त्र बनाने के लिए किया जाता है। रेशम का धागा रेशम कीट के कोकून से प्राप्त रेशों से तैयार किया जाता है।
