क्रिस्टलीकरण (Crystallization)

किसी पदार्थ के शुद्ध और बड़ी आमाप के क्रिस्टल उनके विलयन से प्राप्त किए जाते हैं। इस प्रक्रिया को क्रिस्टलीकरण कहा जाता है। यह एक भौतिक परिवर्तन है। लवण (साधारण नमक) को समुद्रजल के वाष्पन के द्वारा प्राप्त किया जाता है। इस प्रक्रिया के द्वारा प्राप्त होने वाला नमक अशुद्ध होता है। इस नमक के क्रिस्टल छोटे होते हैं। इस नमक के क्रिस्टलों के आकार को स्पष्ट रूप से नहीं देखा जा सकता। क्रिस्टलीकरण की प्रक्रिया के द्वारा ही शुद्ध नमक प्राप्त किया जाता है।

Crystals of pure and large size of a substance are obtained from their solution. This process is called crystallization. This is a physical change. Salt (common salt) is obtained by evaporation of sea water. The salt obtained by this process is impure. The crystals of this salt are small. The shape of the crystals of this salt cannot be seen clearly. Pure salt is obtained only by the process of crystallization.

कॉपर सल्फेट का क्रिस्टलीकरण (Crystallization Of Cooper Sulphate)

कॉपर सल्फेट के क्रिस्टल प्राप्त करने के लिए सर्वप्रथम किसी बीकर में लगभग एक कप जल लीजिए। इसमें तनु सल्फ्यूरिक अम्ल की कुछ बूँदों को मिलाइए। इसके बाद इस जल को गर्म कीजिए। कुछ समय बाद जल उबलना आरंभ हो जाएगा। इस उबलते हुए जल में धीरे-धीरे कॉपर सल्फेट का चूर्ण निरन्तर मिलाते रहिए। चूर्ण मिलाते समय जल को चम्मच से हिलाते रहिए। कॉपर सल्फेट का चूर्ण मिलाना तब तक जारी रखें, जब तक कि उसमें और कॉपर सल्फेट घोलना संम्भव न हो। इस प्रक्रिया से प्राप्त विलयन को फिल्टर पेपर की सहायता से छान लीजिए। इसके बाद विलयन को पूरी तरह से ठण्डा होने दीजिए। जब विलयन ठण्डा हो रहा हो, तो उसे हिला-डुलाने का प्रयास न करें। कुछ समय बाद विलयन ठण्डा हो जाएगा। इस विलयन में कॉपर सल्फेट के क्रिस्टल दिखाई देगें। यदि न दिखाई दें, तो कुछ समय तक प्रतीक्षा कीजिए। कुछ देर बाद कॉपर सल्फेट के क्रिस्टल अवश्य दिखाई देगें।

To obtain crystals of copper sulphate, first take about one cup of water in a beaker. Add a few drops of dilute sulfuric acid to it. After that heat this water. After some time the water will start boiling. Keep adding the powder of copper sulphate slowly to this boiling water. Keep stirring the water with a spoon while adding the powder. Continue adding copper sulphate powder until it is no longer possible to dissolve more copper sulphate. Filter the solution obtained from this process with the help of filter paper. After that let the solution cool down completely. While the solution is cooling, do not attempt to stir it. After some time the solution will cool down. Crystals of copper sulphate will be seen in this solution. If you don't see it, wait for some time. After some time crystals of copper sulphate will definitely be visible.
